Japanese word samsara, meaning “adventurer”. Although her true gender
was revealed in the ending of the original Metroid, recent years have

It has been even speculated that the character’s name was adapted from the Japanese word samsara (サムスール), meaning “adventurer”, resembling the word “Samurai” (the Japanese word for warrior).
