Sam Bettens, a renowned Belgian musician, was born on July 23, 1972, in Kapellen, Belgium. He gained fame as the lead vocalist of the popular Belgian band K’s Choice, which was formed in 1993. Before his transition, Bettens was known as Sarah and had a successful career with the band, producing hit songs like “Not an Addict”, “Almost Happy”, and “Everything for Free”. In his personal life, Bettens came out as a lesbian in 2002 and is married to Stef, with whom he shares four children. They made their home in Tennessee, USA, a state which did not recognize same-sex marriage at the time.
