Marcus Aurelius Antoninus, often referred to by his nicknames Elagabalus and Heliogabalus, was a Roman emperor who ruled from 218 to 222. Despite his reign being relatively short, it was marked by numerous sex scandals and religious controversies. Born as Sextus Varius Avitus Bassianus around 204, he hailed from a distinguished Arab family in Emesa, now known as Homs, Syria. From a young age, he served as the head priest of the sun god Elagabal. After the death of his cousin, Emperor Caracalla, Elagabalus was elevated to the principate at just 14 years old, following an army revolt instigated by his grandmother Julia Maesa against Caracalla’s successor, Macrinus.

This groundbreaking achievement came in 2019 when she was elected to the Silver Lake Neighborhood Council in Los Angeles. Identifying as non-binary, Pudlo uses she/her and they/them pronouns. She further made headlines in 2019 when she announced a Democratic Party bid for California’s 28th congressional district, challenging incumbent Adam Schiff. His rise to prominence was marked by a series of personal and legal challenges. After undergoing a surgical procedure that involved the removal and reconstruction of genital tissues, he began living entirely as a female. The transformation was financially supported by the Irish Eastern Health Board. Following his departure from the family home in 1990, he was initially granted conditional access to his children, but this was later revoked by the Circuit Court in 1994. Despite successfully changing his legal first names and acquiring identity documents in his new name, his request to amend the sex on his birth certificate was denied.
